Bike weather suitability indicator
A three-day cycling forecast that evaluates weather against configurable preferences for wind, temperature and precipitation.
Goal
Help a cyclist judge whether the weather is suitable today, tomorrow or the day after tomorrow using personal thresholds.
Constraints
Convert three-hour forecast data into a clear three-day assessment and allow users to adjust thresholds for wind, temperature, rain, snow and time of day.
Process
I built a FastAPI backend and a React frontend using Vite. I consumed OpenWeather's five-day, three-hour forecast, validated settings using Zod and stored preferences in localStorage. The interface presented results for today, tomorrow and the day after tomorrow.
I also explored a React Native version, but the documented mobile work was a skeleton rather than a finished alternative app.
Result
Implemented the core three-day result view and configurable settings flow. The available record does not establish a public deployment.
